Concrete Scanning For Post Tension Cables

A company out of Virginia Beach, Virginia called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to locate Post Tension Cables within the slab. With the proper training, we were able to distinguish the difference between rebar and post tension cables prior to drilling. GPRS was able to mark directly on the surface with tape due to this being a finished floor the location and depths of the post tension cables and any conduits in real time. The contractor was in a time crunch as they were installing exercise equipment in an apartment complex and we were able to get to them within the same day. The installer of the exercise equipment was on site and needed to drill anchors into the slab without hitting any post tension cables or conduits for anchors that were being installed to keep the exercise equipment from tipping over. All of our project managers have completed the OSHA 10 training and are currently involved in an ongoing safety training course. Safety is a priority to us at Ground Penetrating Radar Systems and our thirteen-year track record proves it.

GPR is a great tool to locate post tension cables, rebar, and conduits within a slab. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Virginia scans for tension cables, rebar, and conduits multiple times a week.
