A contractor reached out to Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Virginia to investigate a concrete slab full of tension cables. GPRS has been helping contractors reduce the likelihood of subsurface obstruction strikes during drilling, cutting, trenching, anchoring and other construction/demolition processes. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems not only can locate the PT cables, but we can give you the depth of the cable as well. This information helped the contractor comfortably drill knowing that none of the cables will be hit. The contractor showed GPRS where he was going to be drilling. We marked all the cables in marker with depths beside them. The on-site scanning and marking process was completed within a few short hours and the contractor was able to begin the project in a timely fashion and with valuable information of what to expect. This was all done in a safe, time efficient, non-destructive way. The radar emits radiation less than 1% of that found to be emitted by standard cell phones.
